Isla Iguana is a beautiful 40 hectare island reserve, just a 25 minute boat ride from Pedasi.  Perfect
for snorkelling or just lazing on the beach, Isla Iguana is a ‘must see’ for visitors to Azuero.  We offer
day trips to the Island &  fishing trips.

We offer our guests the use of life jackets, beach mats, snorkelling equipment and a cooler; free of
charge* .  Trips to the island are best planned a day in advance and depend on the weather and
ocean.

The Azuero Peninsula has many attractions and festivals.  Carnaval being the most
famous!  The Las Tablas Carnaval is the largest in the country, and receives 10,000's
of visitors every year.  Pedasi, Santo Domingo and La Palma also have  popular
carnaval celebrations.  Here is a list of the major festivals and things to do and visit
in Azuero....
Carnaval - February 2012
carnaval dates for 2012 are February 18th-21st, Las Tablas,
Chitre, La Palma, Santo Domingo and Pedasi all have excellent
carnaval celebrations...

Semana Santa (easter week) - March April
Easter in 2012i s at the beginning of April with Good Friday falling on April 6th, Easter is celebrated all
over the region with the best processions in the towns of Pese and Peña Blanca de Las Tablas, with
their interpretation of the Via Crucis.
Feria de Azuero - April
The Azuero Trade fair is held in the town of La Villa de Los Santos, every year in late April, this is a
10 day country fair.
Corpus Christi - June
This religous festival is held 61 days after Good Friday,  a colourful two week festival with folkloric
dances held in La Villa de los Santos.
Fiestas Patronales de Santa Librada - July 19-23
Around 25,000 people visit Las Tablas every year for its Patron Saint festivities.  
Festival de la Pollera - July 22
A display of Panama's national costume, the 'Pollera' Queen is crowned on the 22nd with a colourful
procession in Las Tablas
Festival de la Mejorana, Guarare - September 24
Held in the small town of Guarare, close to Las Tablas, La Mejorana is one of Panama's most popular
cultural events lasting 5 days.  Musicians and Folkloric groups from all over the country take part in
the parades and shows.
Festival de Chitre - October 19
Chitre celebrates its foundation with parades, dances and folklorical shows.
Fiestas Patrias - November
November is party month in Panama! The 3rd being independance from Colombia and 4th is flag day.
 Both days are national holidays and all the schools participate in marching parades.  The 10th is
celebrated in Los Santos 'the first shout of independance'. The 28th is independance from
Spain...another national holiday, with marching parades.
New Years Eve - Las Tablas
Las Tablas holds a popular New Years Eve celebration every year.  The town celebrates the
coronation of the Las Tablas carnaval queen...a fun all night fiesta! with fireworks and parades.
Playa Uverito is a small community next to the Port of Mensabe and only 10km from the town of Las
Tablas; the capital of Los Santos province.  The beach is a safe swimming beach with no rip-tides.  At
night the beach volleyball court in front of the hotel is illuminated!
